Transforming the Virginia State Police Executive Suites with Innovative A/V Solutions
OVERVIEW
The Virginia State Police headquarters is an extensive campus steeped in history and pivotal for statewide operations. Our mission? To modernize the executive suites in an older building that had been expanded over the decades. The suites serve as a central hub for
high-level meetings, strategic planning and emergency response coordination, making a seamless and robust audiovisual (A/V) system essential.

THE CHALLENGE
This project was not a simple plug-and-play. The building wasn’t new construction and there weren’t existing systems that could be easily upgraded. On top of that, the project began as the pandemic waned, but supply chain issues still were creating lengthy delays and design challenges. We ended up having to pivot quite a bit and redesign key elements while maintaining client expectations.
INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS
Despite the challenges, Trinity Dynamics delivered a state-of-the-art A/V system that transformed the executive suites.
Here’s how we made it happen:
1.Planar Video Wall: We installed a 2×4 Planar video wall that delivers stunning visual clarity, perfect for displaying multiple sources simultaneously during strategic briefings and emergency meetings.
2. AMX Enova Control System: This robust system served as the brain of the operation, handling signal management and control to keep all components working seamlessly together.
3.1 Beyond Camera Tracking System: Smart tracking cameras were strategically placed to capture active speakers automatically. Paired with Shure MXA 920 microphones, these cameras ensured clear, accurate visual focus during meetings.
4. Barco ClickShare Integration: Each room was equipped with wireless presentation capabilities, allowing users to connect effortlessly and share content from their devices, boosting collaboration.
UNIQUE HIGHLIGHTS:
The Executive Conference Room: The centerpiece of the project was the affectionately nicknamed “Fishbowl”. This premier conference space, enclosed by glass walls, is equipped with a 2×4 UHD Video wall and a 98-inch side display mounted on the side wall. The iconic Paul Downs custom table featuring an etched Virginia State logo at the center of the room is the centerpiece of this custom space. This room stands out as a testament to craftsmanship and technology blending seamlessly and commands attention while delivering high tech functionality.
A suite of integrated conferencing rooms: In addition the “Fishbowl” the Executive Suite is complimented by a number of Huddle rooms, Rally Rooms, and a second Large Conference Room similar in functionality to the Fishbowl. (Though smaller
and simpler in design)
Smart Camera Tech: The integration of 1 Beyond’s camera tracking and Shure microphones mean automatic, hands-free,
camera operation that adjusts to whoever is speaking, making for a dynamic and engaging meeting experience.
Real-Time Problem Solving: Our team adapted on the fly, rebuilding equipment racks on-site due to changes in equipment and configuration needs. This flexible approach ensured the project stayed on track and exceeded client expectations.
THE RESULT:
The newly updated executive suites now serve as the nerve center for strategic meetings and emergency management sessions. The integration of smart A/V technology enhances both collaboration and efficiency, providing the Virginia State Police with the tools they need to conduct high-stakes operations and routine meetings with ease.
