Mitsubishi Electric withdraws from projector, large-format monitor markets
In a release dated October 11, 2013, Mitsubishi Electric Visual Solutions America, Inc. (MEVSA) announced its immediate withdraws from the front-projector and stand-alone, large-format monitor markets, not only in the U.S. but also globally. MEVSA also announced they will no longer receive shipments of the products in question from their factories and will begin selling-off any remaining inventory in the aforementioned product categories.
Moving forward, the company will focus on the promotion and sale of display wall products and printer imaging products. “These products represent the future of our company,” according to Tadashi Hiraoka, President and CEO of MEVSA. MEVSA will continue to sell and service their other product lines and websites and 800 numbers will remain in effect.
“Mitsubishi was a great partner and provided a wide variety of quality products at an affordable price. Many of our customers had settled on Mitsubishi as their projector standard”, reports John Jennings, Chief Technology Officer of Trinity Video Communications. Jennings also said that Trinity is evaluating alternatives for their customers and is leveraging its relationship with the USAV Group to determine its future direction in regards to this specific product line.
