Touch Screen Control Patent goes to Trinity Dynamics

Today the US Patent Office awarded a patent to Trinity Video Communications for its codec-driven touch screen Video Conferencing control system. The patent was awarded for the custom Trinity Touch™ control system designed by Trinity engineers in order to provide a secure, touchscreen control system for government VTC environments.

The patent names Barry J. Sawayer, Trinity President and CEO, along with former partner Thomas D. Duddy and other employees as the inventors of the system. “We are proud that we are being recognized for the hard work and ingenuity that we invested in this product”, Sawayer says.

Touch Screen Control System Details

The Trinity Touch provides a touch screen entry and display device that interfaces with the codec of the existing videoconferencing system. A computer with a video capture device captures the output video of the codec and transmits it to the touch screen so that what is displayed on the touch screen is all of the controls for the video conferencing system as designed by the manufacturer. There is no requirement to employ a cursor on the video conferencing monitor screen. In fact, through use of the system, none of the control functions of the videoconferencing system appear on its monitor screens. Rather, those functions are solely displayed on the touch screen on the remote control device.

The product has been sold to several customers in DOD and DOJ. For more information, check out the product page on Trinity’s website.
